This slide show depicts a foray into the back country of Hoover Wilderness and Yosemite. On this 1979 hike, "Matterhorn Peak" refers to the map quadrangle, not a waypoint. We opted for easy layovers at Summit Lake (Hoover Wilderness) and Miller Lake (Yosemite), instead of another forced-march 9 day circuit.

There are some 148 slides in the show, a lazy week in the Sierra high country. You can bookmark any page and come back to it.
