Wipe, pare, and core
the apples. Place in a pan and add the syrup and butter.
Simmer slowly, turning the apples frequently until they
are tender yet hold their shape. Remove to a casserole and
insert one-quarter of a banana in each apple. Place a marshmallow
on top of each apple. Pour the syrup around them and bake
at 400 degrees F. until the marshmallows are puffy and brown.
