Sift together flour,
salt and Baking Soda. Using an electric mixer, cream butter
flavored shortening in large bowl; gradually add sugar and
continue beating until light and fluffy.
Beat in vanilla and egg. Add flour mixture and beat until smooth;
blend in milk. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart on greased
baking sheets.
Flatten with bottom of glass that has been dipped in sugar.
Bake in 400 degree oven about 12 minutes, or until edges
are lightly browned. Cool on racks. Makes about 5 1/2 dozen,
2-inch cookies.
