WELCOME to Alex's writing Page, a collection created mostly since 1990. These pages will be updated as new material comes in, and as time permits. Your comments are always welcome!
You'll quickly discover these famous "Bears" seem to be stuffed animals. How, you may ask, might these stories populate an adult newsletter? You'll need only to read one or two, to answer this question for yourself. You should check out C. Bear's World to find out whether being a stuffed bear is really all a bed of roses.
These stories are written just for fun. Comments range from "just darling!", through "Oh, I just haven't had time" to, even, "but so many pages!" If in fact you do like to read, but don't have time to read stories on the web (your ISP's unreliable, and dinner's ready, and you have to be at work early tomorrow), feel free to download the stories (see Copyright for permissions).
We do hope you'll find you don't have to be any particular age, even in Bear years, to enjoy a sense of wonder and delight in the world we live in. Stories by Alex Forbes.
The Pope stories have been contributed to us by a talented author who prefers to remain anonymous. We did not write them, but even our own blasé Bears admire this hauntingly Byronic "Pope" Bear very much, and they would like one day to meet him. We find these stories intriguing, captivating, and delightfully rich in depth of perception. Stories by anonymous.
From "Lunch at Ten Fu" to "Sheep Are Many", here are different perspectives for daily occasions. You may never feel the same again about overheard conversations, or about being culled out of the flock! "Frog Lake" offers a fresh perspective on actually hearing what our environment tells us. "Aphorisms" subjects you to a few wise sayings, and many most cynical! As for "Steam Locomotive": we recently heard the distinct sounds, far away, of an old engine which visited our town. We remembered. Do you? Stories and articles by Alex Forbes.
Most of the stories in this section were originally published in La Parola, the newsletter of the Gay Italian American Club (you don't even have to be Italian). If you enjoyed other selections found here in Stories & Fiction, chances are you'll enjoy the following too:
Not everyone likes every kind of poem, but perhaps you'll find one in here that's just for you. What do poems mean? If you cherish one or more of them for your own personal "collection", it's not the author's life you've captured; you've discovered a perspective of your very own. Poems by Alex Forbes.

Here we index occasional letters, special essays, and other topics or a general nature: the thoughts you want to write down and share, whether humorous, opinionated or just reflective.

Here you'll find original work contributed to this web page by other authors. We don't edit others' contributions, but we do select work that we like, and reserve the right to do so. As elsewhere on this page, work found here is copyrighted and remains the property of the authors. If you would like to contact a guest author, write us at Summitlake.com and we'll forward your note. If you have writing of your own that you'd like to see on this web page, e-mail us below and let us know.
