  05_Pacific_Sunset.jpg - This photo was taken on a once-in-a-lifetime one week sailing trip around the Hawaiian Islands. We were aboard the Misty, a 56-foot ferro-cement ketch. (A ketch is a two masted sailing vessel with the aft mast set forward of the steering wheel. ) I believe this shot was taken while docked on the Big Isle, the first evening aboard, just before the skipper broke out the ship's refreshments. The Misty was aptly named; few spent much time aboard her in anything less than a befogged condition. This sunset photo gives a hint of the wonder of open ocean sailing, when there is nothing to see all around except the ever-changing moods of the sea.
