| 06-N4903T-56 | This cabin-class Cessna twin was quite an attraction in its heyday at general aviation fields. It was quite a thrill on takeoff. You had to be careful not to overboost the turbochargers, and 2,000 foot per minute rates of climb gave less than a minute to level out while in the airport traffic area. The aircraft was a handful for the student multiengine pilot, who normally trained in the lower-powered Cessna 310 "Sky King" twin. At cruise, you had to think 50-100 miles ahead of the aircraft; as soon as you hit cruise altitude out of Lake Tahoe, you had to get serious about descent into the Bay Area -- while still in the vicinity of Sacramento. | |
