  08_Green_Lake.jpg - It was cold, windy and a perfect day to be alive. This was a one-day hike into the East Lake / Green Lake area, north of Summit Lake. Our friends Patsy and Raymond were along, their first hike ever. We wanted to make them feel like they were part of the team, without letting them catch on we were just as grateful for their slow pace as they were in need of it. We crossed a number of fallen logs as bridges over little tiny creeks, just to make it more fun, There were intermittent large areas of unmelted snow, with plenty of time and opportunity to get photos of the dogs playing in the snow.But Patsy was not happy. "Too cold". Too windy. Too wet, too slippery. And, even an "easy" hike is hard work.This lake was the first real rest stop before trudging on to East Lake. As soon as Patsy saw this scene, she was delighted, and the rest of the trip was a success. You can practically hear the aspen leaves fluttering in the wind.
