  08_Summit_Lake.jpg - This was my first backtrip trip into the Eastern slope of the Sierras. The far rim of the lake borders Yosemite. It is not an easy ascent, and in those days we had the whole lake to ourselves. The tranquility of the place, its many enchanting vistas, and the sense of friendship and adventure we shared there, all served as inspiration for the Summitlake.com site name and theme.
