| 29 Alex-Snow Bank | Vicinity of Summit Lake, Summer 1971: I like this photo because it dramatizes the rugged, steep terrain on the approach to many mountain passes in the high Sierras. The photo shows me standing upright as a reference to the vertical (we are above treeline). The small dog belonged to close friends, and trekked with us on many hikes in those days. The dog's name was "Attercop", but one of his many nicknames was indeed "Toto". | |
